I’m a Czech photojournalist currently based in San Francisco and Prague.

I specialize in social documentary and dedicate most of my time to international reporting, pursuing independent projects primarily in Africa and Asia. In collaboration with nonprofit organizations (NGO), I document humanitarian efforts in different parts of the world. This work often leads me to the discovery of new long-term stories on which I work independently.

My main passion is storytelling. I strive to portray emotions, intimate moments and the great variety of interactions between people. I aim to capture the moments when inhibition is absent and people become their own true selves. These moments are the most rewarding aspect of my work.

Through anthropological research, I work towards understanding disability—especially in children. They fascinate me for their ability to freely express themselves and their emotions. I believe their rich interaction can teach the rest of us about our own limitations.

I work for National Geographic Expeditions as a photography leader and enjoy giving photography and storytelling lectures to young students as well as adults.

I’m contributing photographer for Everyday Africa.
